Calorie, Protein
& Fibre Check

It is commonly said in WFPB that you don't need to count calories when consuming a WFPB diet. Technically, that is true until you realise you're gaining weight and can't understand why.

Weight gain will occur when you consistently fill up on foods with high calorie counts. Knowing, and understanding how to deal with this can be especially important for menopausal women.

Generally speaking, unless special conditions exist, you will lose weight when you create meals from above the red line showing on the secod page of this .pdf. Be mindful, of course, that you still require a set amount of calories per day to properly funciton.

Understanding
Type 2 Diabetes

Check out this eight-page .pdf document produced by Plant-Based Health Professionals UK. It graphically explains how Type 2 diabetes is primarily caused by insulin resistance.

Key factors include obesity, which increases fat accumulation, particularly in the abdomen; sedentary lifestyle; and genetic predisposition. Advancing age also plays a role.

Additionally, poor dietary choices, such as high consumption of refined carbohydrates and sugars, contribute significantly to this condition, leading to elevated blood glucose levels over time.

Understanding the
WFPB Food Groups

Essentially there are four WFPB food groups although, nuts and seeds could be classed as an important fifth element.

Herbs and spices are also essential, of course. Together, when joined in the right combinations, they help produce the most delightful culinary experience you could ever hope to have.

Strict WFPB protocol encourages the use of water as your main thirst quencher while alcohol, sugar, oil, and salt is also rejected by the most ardent followers of this eating style.
