Outspoken US medic Dr Joel Fuhrman has done it again. In a hard-hitting newsletter released earlier today, he takes a stab at “the big business” that health has become and warns people they’re being sucked into paying trillions of dollars in health care because they can’t control their eating habits.
“When you eat an unhealthy diet, three things happen,” he says. “First, you compromise your health with excess pounds and toxins. Second, you risk falling into the spiral of food addiction and emotional eating. And third: You help make the “healthcare” industry very, very, VERY rich.”
He says people shouldn’t be surprised at how valuable their bad eating habits can be to health professionals individually or the system as a whole.
“The fact is, Americans spend a staggering $4.5 trillion on healthcare annually. That makes up 19% of the nation’s entire GDP. And here’s the kicker: Despite spending all that money, we’re sicker than ever.”
Fuhrman says it’s almost unfathomable that people can’t see what is happening before them.
“Think about it: No one is making money off you if you’re eating a healthy diet and embracing an active lifestyle. So they have no incentive to push you in that direction.
“Where Big Ag, Big Sugar, and Big Pharma make money is by treating the damage caused by the Standard American Diet. That lifestyle guarantees that you’ll be caught in a loop of endless medications, more processed food, and more procedures.”
Fuhrman says the bottom line is that these industry giants have been lining their pockets and capitalizing on a system designed to keep people in a steady customer-patient relationship.
It’s not difficult to detect a sense of frustration in Fuhrman’s latest missive. He says people have become “pawns in a profit-driven game” but don’t have to stay locked into it.
“You can take your health back into your hands — where it belongs. Simply eating the right foods (and avoiding the wrong ones) can help you prevent and even reverse most of the major illnesses of our time.”
Fuhrman is a board-certified physician who specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutritional excellence. He has written over a dozen books, including seven New York Times best sellers.
“I’ve spent my career helping patients make the best choices when it comes to nutrition and have seen thousands of people reverse their (so-called irreversible) illnesses and transform their health,” he says.
His latest book, Eat for Life, contains over 2000 scientific references. It is considered a “must-read” for everyone who wants to protect themselves and their loved ones from a medical crisis.
