Air Fried Apple Pie Rice Paper Rolls

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

AirFried Apple Pie Rice Paper Rolls are not only a delicious and satisfying dessert but also a healthier alternative to traditional apple pie. Made with simple and wholesome ingredients like rice paper, apples, cinnamon, raisins, and maple syrup, these delightful treats provide a range of health benefits while still indulging your sweet cravings.

One of the key advantages of preparing these apple pie rice paper rolls in an air fryer is the reduced amount of oil required. Air frying allows for a crispy texture with minimal added fats, making these rolls lower in calories and saturated fats compared to traditional deep-fried desserts.

The star ingredient, apples, brings a multitude of health benefits to this recipe. Apples are packed with dietary fibre, promoting healthy digestion and preventing constipation. Additionally, they contain immune-boosting vitamin C and antioxidants, which help combat inflammation and protect against chronic diseases. The natural sweetness of apples combined with raisins provides a satisfyingly sweet flavour while contributing to your daily fruit intake.

Cinnamon, another integral component of these apple pie rice paper rolls, not only enhances the warm and comforting aroma but also offers numerous health benefits. It has been linked to improved blood sugar control, potentially lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes. Cinnamon also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and may aid in reducing cholesterol and supporting heart health.

The use of rice paper as the outer layer of these rolls offers a healthier alternative to buttery pie crusts. Rice paper is low in calories and fat, gluten-free, and provides a source of carbohydrates. It’s also a versatile option for those following a plant-based or gluten-free diet.

To add a touch of natural sweetness to the filling, maple syrup is included. Unlike refined sugars, maple syrup contains trace minerals like zinc and manganese. While it is still a sweetener and should be consumed in moderation, it offers a more unprocessed and nutrient-dense option compared to refined sugars.

By opting for air-frying instead of deep-frying, using wholesome ingredients like apples, raisins, cinnamon, and maple syrup, and choosing rice paper as a lighter alternative to pie crust, these AirFried Apple Pie Rice Paper Rolls provide a healthier dessert option. Enjoy the crispy texture, the fragrant cinnamon-scented apples, and the natural sweetness while also benefiting from the fibre, antioxidants, nutrients, and potential blood sugar-regulating properties found in the ingredients. Indulge in these guilt-free treats knowing you are nourishing your body with delicious and healthful ingredients.
