Air Fried Apple Pie Rice Paper Rolls

Catherine BarclayCatherine Barclay
AirFried Apple Pie Rice Paper Rolls are a delightful twist on the classic apple pie, combining crispy rice paper rolls with the sweet and warm flavours of apples, cinnamon, raisins, and maple syrup.
This healthier version of apple pie is made using an air fryer, reducing the amount of oil required for a crispy texture. The filling features thinly sliced apples tossed with aromatic cinnamon, plump raisins for added sweetness, and a drizzle of maple syrup for a touch of natural sweetness.
Once air-fried, the rice paper rolls turn golden and crispy, creating a delightful contrast to the soft and fragrant apple filling. These flavorful and guilt-free treats make for a tasty dessert or snack option that is easy to make and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 4 apples peeled, cored and sliced thinly
  • ½ cup raisens
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 8 sheets Rice Paper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, soak the raisins in hot water to soften for at least five minutes
  • Take the sliced apples, softened raisins, cinnamon and maple syrup into a large bowl and gently toss to combine.
  • Find a large bowl or frying pan that is at least the size of the rice paper and ¼ fill it with cold water.
  • Place the rice paper into the water one sheet at a time. Soak until it is soft enough to bend without breaking.
  • Place the softened rice paper onto a clean bench and put two tablespoons of the apple mix into the centre, gently fold in the sides then fold over the bottom closest to you and roll the pies away from you until all the mix is sealed into the rice paper.
  • Double roll the apple pie with a second sheet of dampened rice paper sheet. And set it aside. Repeat the process four times.
  • Preheat the air frier to 200℃ (400℉) then place the pies into the air frier basket and cook for 15 minutes turning once.
  • Best served warm with some nice cream or custard.
