Quinoa Pudding with Mango Puree

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This tempting Quinoa Pudding with Mango Purée is a delightful treat and a nutritional powerhouse, offering a wealth of health benefits.

This dish’s heart is quinoa, a versatile and nutrient-dense “superfood” grain. Quinoa is a complete protein, meaning it contains all the essential amino acids, making it an excellent choice for those seeking to incorporate more plant-based protein into their diet. It is also a rich source of fibre, which is crucial for maintaining a healthy digestive system.

The addition of plant-based milk, such as almond or oat milk, further enhances the nutritional profile of this pudding. These milk alternatives are often fortified with vitamins and minerals, providing a boost of essential nutrients. The cinnamon sticks and orange zest used in the pudding also offer their own health benefits.

Cinnamon is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and may help regulate blood sugar levels, making this dessert a more diabetic-friendly option. The orange zest and juice, on the other hand, are rich in vitamin C, which is vital for immune function and skin health.

The inclusion of maple syrup as a natural sweetener adds a touch of sweetness while also providing antioxidants and minerals, such as zinc and manganese, which are important for overall well-being.

The star of this dish, however, is the mango purée. Mangoes are a treasure trove of nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin A, and folate. These vibrant fruits are also a great source of dietary fibre and carotenoids, which are known for their antioxidant properties and potential to support eye health.

By combining the nutrient-dense quinoa with the tropical sweetness of the mango purée, this dessert becomes a delightful and nourishing treat. The natural sweetness from the maple syrup and fruit, along with the creaminess of the plant-based milk, create a satisfying and indulgent experience without the need for added sugars or artificial sweeteners.

In summary, this Quinoa Pudding with Mango Purée is a nutrient-rich dessert that offers a delightful balance of flavours and textures. With its impressive array of health benefits, including support for protein intake, digestive health, immune function, and antioxidant protection, it is a dessert that can be enjoyed guilt-free, nourishing both the body and the soul.
