The Amazing Aquafaba Whipped Cream

A light, airy, and completely plant-based alternative to traditional whipped cream. Made using the magical aquafaba — the protein-rich liquid from chilled canned chickpeas — this recipe whips into soft, cloud-like peaks without any dairy or heavy cream. Sweetened naturally with maple syrup and infused with a touch of vanilla essence, it delivers a perfectly balanced flavour that works beautifully with fresh fruit, coffee, cakes, pies, or any dessert that needs a luscious finishing touch.

Health Benefits:

  • Aquafaba (chickpea brine): Naturally low in fat, cholesterol-free, and a great egg-white substitute for those with allergies or following a vegan diet. Its plant-based proteins create the signature fluffy texture while being far lighter than dairy cream.
  • Maple syrup: Provides natural sweetness along with trace minerals such as manganese and zinc, which support energy production and immune health.
  • Vanilla essence: Contains antioxidant compounds and adds a comforting, aromatic flavor that enhances sweet dishes without the need for additional sugar.
  • Dairy-free & cholesterol-free: Great for heart health and suitable for lactose-intolerant individuals.
  • Lower in calories compared to traditional whipped cream, making it a guilt-free way to enjoy creamy textures.

This whipped cream is vegan, allergy-friendly, and versatile — perfect for those seeking a healthier topping that doesn’t compromise on taste or texture. It’s proof that with just three simple ingredients, you can create a light, indulgent treat that’s as kind to your body as it is to your taste buds.

Normally you might find me behind the coding of our sites but over the years I have become much more concerned about what has been happening in the kitchen as well - families do that for all of us don't they? Background experience is in Account Management and Web Development but as my passion has grown for WFPB so has my desire to speak out.
