Immunity Booster

A Seasonal Shield for Your Body

As the seasons shift and temperatures fluctuate, our immune systems often need extra support. This vibrant blend of oranges, large pineapple, fresh ginger, lemons, turmeric, and a dash of black pepper is designed to do just that—fortify your body’s natural defences when it’s most vulnerable.

Each ingredient plays a powerful role:

  • 🍊 Oranges & Lemons – Rich in vitamin C, these citrus fruits help stimulate white blood cell production, your body’s first line of defence against infections. They also provide antioxidants that combat oxidative stress and support skin health.
  • 🍍 Pineapple – Packed with bromelain, an enzyme known for its anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits. It helps reduce mucus and supports respiratory health—especially helpful during seasonal transitions.
  • 🌱 Fresh Ginger – A warming root that boosts circulation, soothes sore throats, and aids digestion. Ginger’s natural compounds, like gingerol, have antimicrobial and anti-nausea properties.
  • 🌿 Fresh Turmeric – A golden powerhouse of curcumin, known for its anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating effects. When paired with black pepper, its absorption is significantly enhanced.
  • Ground Black Pepper – Not just a flavour enhancer—piperine in black pepper increases the bioavailability of curcumin and other nutrients, making this blend more effective.

Why Shoulder Seasons Matter
Autumn and spring are times of transition—when our bodies are adjusting to changing light, temperature, and routines. These “shoulder seasons” often bring a spike in colds, allergies, and fatigue. Supporting your immune system during these times can help you stay energised, resilient, and ready to embrace the season ahead.

Whether taken as a morning shot, blended into smoothies, or steeped in warm water, this immunity booster is a natural way to nourish your body and stay one step ahead of seasonal sniffles.

Equipment

  • 1 Juicer This juicer is ideal as it seperates out the pulp and juice into seperate containers which is easier to maintain.

Ingredients

  • 3 oranges
  • 1 large pineapple remove outer skin before juicing
  • ½ cup fresh ginger
  • 4 lemons
  • 1 tsp gound black pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh turmeric

Instructions

  • Cut all ingredients into small pieces for the juicer.
  • I first juiced the pineapple and then stored the pulp for the cream cheese recipe
  • I then juiced all other ingredients
  • Stir through to make sure all is combined.
  • Pour into small shot bottles with lids (purchased mine from Kmart).
  • Refrigerate until use. We had one each morning with breakfast.

Notes

For this recipe, I use a juicer that separates the juice from the pulp. However, this can be done in a blender too, and then sieve the pulp.

Background experience is in Account Management and Web Development but as my passion has grown for WFPB so has my desire to speak out.
