Vegan Home Made Smokey BBQ Sauce

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Crafting a homemade vegan BBQ sauce from wholesome ingredients like diced onions, garlic, and crushed tomatoes provides many health benefits. These fresh ingredients contribute a range of essential vitamins and minerals, including antioxidants like vitamin C from the tomatoes, aiding in immune function and cellular repair. The garlic, known for its allicin content, may support heart health and possess antimicrobial properties that could help combat infections.

Incorporating apple cider vinegar into the mix not only adds a tangy flavour but also introduces potential health benefits. This vinegar variety contains acetic acid, which might aid in digestion and support blood sugar regulation. Its use in moderation may assist in appetite control and weight management. Additionally, balsamic vinegar, with its deep, rich flavour, offers antioxidants and potentially beneficial compounds that could contribute to heart health.

Opting for molasses, a natural sweetener derived from sugar cane, brings traces of essential minerals like iron and calcium to your BBQ sauce. Furthermore, smoked paprika not only adds a delightful smoky taste but also contains capsaicin, which may promote metabolism and help reduce inflammation. Miso, a fermented ingredient, introduces gut-friendly probiotics that could enhance digestive health and support a robust immune system. Lastly, adding liquid smoke infuses the sauce with a smoky essence, allowing for a satisfying flavour without the need for actual smoking, ensuring a healthier alternative without compromising taste.

Background experience is in Account Management and Web Development but as my passion has grown for WFPB so has my desire to speak out.
