LM2025: Whole Food Living takes a pulse check on lifestyle medicine

by Peter Barclay

We’re thrilled to announce that Whole Food Living will be covering the LM2025 Lifestyle Medicine Conference, the premier global gathering of clinicians, researchers, and advocates dedicated to transforming health through evidence-based lifestyle interventions.

From our desktops here in Auckland, New Zealand, we’re taking a virtual trip to the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas, where this year’s conference promises four days of groundbreaking dialogue, visionary leadership, and practical solutions for some of the most pressing health challenges of our time.

LM2025 arrives at a pivotal moment in global health, where chronic diseases, health inequities, and food system disruptions demand bold, integrative responses. The conference agenda reflects this urgency.

WFL coverage

The conference begins with in-house registration and in-person workshops on Saturday, Texas time. Our coverage will begin soon after its livestream starts for registered participants on Sunday. We will not be live-streaming specific presentations or workshops.

For those attending or registered online, sessions at this conference will tackle topics such as:

  • Bridging the Public Health and Clinical Care Divide — exploring how population-level strategies can be personalised for individual patients.
  • Healthcare Innovation and Policy Reform — addressing chronic disease disparities through systemic change.
  • The Science of Wellbeing — offering practical, research-backed tools for living a better life.
  • Ultra-processed Plant-Based Products — debating their role in a health-promoting diet.
  • Food Solutions for Diet-Related Disease — spotlighting nutrition as a cornerstone of prevention.
  • Cardiovascular Disease and Lifestyle Medicine — confronting the leading global killer with lifestyle-first strategies.

Powerhouse speaker lineup

LM2025 boasts a powerhouse lineup of speakers whose work spans clinical leadership, public health, psychology, paediatrics, and wellness education:

  • Eduardo Sanchez, Chief Medical Officer for Prevention at the American Heart Association, brings decades of experience in state-level health leadership and insurance reform.
  • Laurie Santos, Yale psychology professor and host of The Happiness Lab podcast, will delve into the science behind wise choices and emotional wellbeing.
  • Richard Carmona, 17th U.S. Surgeon General and University of Arizona professor, offers a seasoned perspective on national health policy and prevention.
  • Bobby Mukkamala, President-Elect of the American Medical Association, is expected to speak on the future of clinical practice and equity.
  • Erin L. Brackbill, paediatrician and health equity advocate, will share insights on empowering families to thrive through lifestyle change.
  • Prof Darren Morton, keynote speaker and internationally recognised wellbeing researcher, will inspire with his evidence-based approach to optimising human flourishing.

Conference a catalyst

Whole Food Living is committed to lifestyle medicine, food research, and environmental health. We see LM2025 as more than a conference—it’s a catalyst. We’ll be capturing the pulse of the event through:

  • Short-form video and session highlights
  • Live social media updates and commentary
  • Editorial reflections connecting global insights to local action

Whether you’re a clinician, policymaker, educator, or everyday health seeker, LM2025 offers a glimpse into the future of medicine—one rooted in prevention, compassion, and whole-person care.
